NOTES
(5)      For ibtētuillegally seized, or, stolen property,” see Roth 2007: 207 n. 2.
MR 126a has three witnesses in common with MR 127, dated a week later and pertaining to the same affair: Nidintu/Sîn-ilī/Bēl-eṭēru (Nidinti-Bēl son of Sîn-ilīšu” in MR 127: 26), Bulṭā/Rēmūt-Bēl/Nūr-Marduk (Bulluṭā” in MR 127: 29) and Bēl-ittannu/Nidintu. The following witnesses are known from other texts:
(19)    Nidintu/Etellu/Šangû-Šamaš was a nephew of Nergal-ahhē-iddin and Nādin-ahi (the future šangû of Sippar). Note that Nergal-ahhē-iddin is attested in Susa (MR 155, Dar 30), like the relative of another witness (Bēl-iddin/Sîn-ilī/Ašgandu, see below).
(23)    Iqūpu/Bēl-iddin/Ea-ilūtu-bani: his father may have been Bēl-iddin/Nabû-nādin-ipri/Ea-ilūtu-bani, witness in the Egibi archive (Wunsch 2000a no. 104, Dar 03).
(28)    Bēl-iddin/Sîn-ilī/Ašgandu: his father Sîn-ilī/Niqūdu/Ašgandu is a witness in ArOr 33 no. 1: 8’ (Dar 27, Babylon; archive of Ea-udammiq//Šangû-Šamaš); his uncle Bēl-iddin/Niqūdu/Ašgandu is a witness in the Susa dossier of the Egibi archive (Dar 437 : 13, Dar 16). A witness of this last text (Bēl-rēmanni/Nabû-šumu-ukīn/Rab-bani-Marduk) also appears in the Susa dossier of Marduk-rēmannis archive (MR 155: 18, Dar 30). ArOr 33 no. 1 too mentions a person who travelled to Susa: the scribe Nidintu/Bēl-zēru-ibni/Egibi wrote OLP 28, 75 (Susa, Dar 23), one of the texts from the Susa dossier of the Egibi archive.
(30)    Mīnu-ana-Bēl-dān/Mušēzib-Marduk/Imbu-īnāya: the scribe is known from Dar 551: 26 (Dar 22, Babylon; Egibi) and Zadok 1997b no. 2: 31 (cf. Zawadzki 2000: 741). Note that a brother of Bēl-iddin/Sîn-ilī/Ašgandu (previous remark) is also present in Dar 551. A brother of Mīnu-ana-Bēl-dān, Marduk-muballissu, occurs in the archive of Marduk-rēmanni as creditor of dates (MR 162 and MR 168).
